There are a number of procedures to improve the ears – the most common of these is ‘bat ear’ correction. Ears that stick out too much invariably bring jokes and remarks even from our best of friends. The operation to correct this is simple and carried out on an outpatient basis. Other procedures include ear reshaping and improvement of split ears.
I was very impressed with the detailed knowledge of my condition during all the staff changes - every nurse that started a new shift knew about how I had been feeling and what had happened - it made me feel in very good and caring hands. I also appreciated hearing the facts of what I was likely to experience post-operatively and appreciated being told in a very calm and understanding manner.
